Severely Delaminated Carpet Removed From Residence

A water heater burst at a local home in Highland Village, Tx affecting the entire first floor. The customer was proactive in moving furniture, picking up contents, and trying to dry up the water everywhere. SERVPRO of Flower Mound / Lewisville arrived onsite and performed the initial inspection with the customer. After discussing with the insurance company we agreed to try heavy extraction to salvage the carpet. During our first equipment check we scanned the carpet to find no change so with the approval of the customer and insurance company we pulled a section away from the tack strip to find it was severely delaminated. This mean the backing has pulled away from the fibers and would not be able to be restored. SERVPRO of Flower Mound removed the carpet and was able to complete the drying process a couple days later.
