Microbial Growth Found Behind Hot Water Heater

SERVPRO of Flower Mound was dispatched to a customer in need of Mold Remediation Services. They were replacing their hot water heater when they found microbial growth on the drywall behind it.

The plumber was able to show the customer there was a slow leak that was causing the issue. Our mold remediation crew informed the customer it was not only the drywall behind the unit but also the support system holding it off the ground.

The affected materials were removed and discarded in order for new drywall and water heater to be installed. You'll see in the after photo what the area looked like directly after the remediation.
